I’m Carina Cully, a designer born and raised in Ireland, now living in New Zealand (via a long stint in London) and I sort of fell into this industry sideways! I studied graphic design in Dublin and Ceramic Design in London so I’ve always done something design-related. I knew I wanted to keep doing design stuff when we moved to NZ, so was delighted to find work that allowed me to do just that, while also learning front-end development.
While living in London I co-ran a media-related company and had to regularly update our website; if you had told me then that I’d be doing this for a living someday, I would have laughed! Since that time, I have learned that actually, building websites is pretty cool. I love that I get to be creative all day, either designing or creating web sites, creating brands, or just plain painting with pixels.
In my free time I draw and paint, eat lots of delicious NZ chocolate and generally enjoy the Kiwi life along with my husband and kids.
